Jenny Copnall
Born in Barnet, Herts, Jenny was a keen horse rider and generally sporty youngster. She was area champion for long jump, high jump and hurdles, competed at area level at lacrosse and netball, won numerous prestigius showjumping prizes around the Uk and captained many teams.
in 1993, aged 17, Jenny was introduced to mountain biking. This occurred at a time when, with university looming, the decision had been made to take a break from horses, so Jenny was receptive to the idea of a new challenge and getting muddy. The week after her first mountain bike race, she was lined up on the start line of a local race in East London (the site of the 2012 London Olympics).
During her time at university where she gained an honours degree in Politics, she continued to progress in mountain biking. After University she decided to prioritise cycling, supplementing her sport with a variety of occupations, from the glamour of sports modelling to the grind of waiting tables.
During an illustrious career, Jenny was six time British Champion, and represented Great Britain at seven world championships. She is a regular guest speaker and coach at events and corporate functions. Recently retired to start a family, Jenny now runs a successful coaching business and enjoys telling her story of a quite unorthodox and utterly unique rise to the top of her sport. She thrives on inspiring others to be the very best in whatever they dream of doing.
